Is the Changan EADO Worth Buying? 3 Things Buyers Should Know First

The EADO is good value, but the right version matters. Three things to check before you order — and who should buy something else.

Yes — for most importers the Changan EADO is worth buying: the 1.5T delivers 192 PS with WLTC fuel use around 6.2 L/100 km, every 2026 trim has six airbags and a 360° camera, and the hybrid cuts fuel use to 3.8 L/100 km. But the value depends on choosing the right version. These are the three things to check first.

1. Why does the trim matter more than the model year?

Equipment changes a lot between trims. In the 2025 EADO, the High-Performance trim has the 170 PS engine, four airbags, manual air conditioning and two speakers; the Premium 500 bar has the 192 PS engine, six airbags, automatic air conditioning and six speakers. Two cars that look identical can be very different products.

  • Compare the full spec table by trim on each vehicle page.
  • Make sure the trim name is written on your proforma invoice.
  • See our 2026 trim guide for a feature-by-feature comparison.

2. Is the EADO Plus the same car as the EADO?

No. The EADO Plus is a separate value line with a 1.4T (or 1.5L manual) engine, a taller 1,505 mm body on a 2,700 mm wheelbase and simpler equipment. The EADO is 4,770–4,785 mm long, lower at 1,440–1,460 mm, with a 2,765 mm wheelbase and a 520-litre boot.

3. What should I check about software and import rules?

These are China-market cars. The voice assistant and built-in navigation are designed for China, so confirm screen language and app support for the units you buy; phone mirroring (Apple CarPlay on most 2026 EADO trims) lets drivers use their own navigation apps. Then check your market's rules: age limits for used cars, certification and duties. Our market guides link to the official authorities.

Who should buy the EADO — and who should not?

  • Good fit: dealers wanting a modern compact sedan at a competitive price; taxi and ride-hailing fleets (especially the hybrid); markets that drive on the right.
  • Think twice: right-hand-drive markets (the EADO models we list are LHD); buyers who need an English-only infotainment guarantee without checking the unit; fleets with no access to hybrid servicing considering the hybrid.
